An Entrepreneur selling his/her product loves to hear the words “sold out”. When linked to the sale of products, “sold out”, usually equates to profit or increase. Remarkably, when we resolve to become “sold out” Christians, it does not usually, but ALWAYS result in profitability and increase in our lives. Being “sold out” for Jesus Christ has kingdom privileges too numerous to mention. Not limited to salvation, love, wisdom, peace, favor, joy, spiritual prosperity, strength, deliverance, healing, abundance, overflow, fruitfulness, etc.
Having a personal and intimate relationship with God is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I’m not talking about having just head knowledge of God. From time to time, we may hear Mama, Auntie or Grandma speak about God and how good He has been to them. Praise God for Mama and the others, but I am not talking about that kind of head knowledge either. I am talking about the kind of intimacy where you know that you know that you know for yourself that He is God. And you want to get so close to Him that you make the decision that everything not like Him in your life must go!
A few months ago, while walking through a Shopping Mall, I noticed a sign posted in a store window which read: “Everything Must Go! Discounts up to 50% off!” One month later, I walked by the same store and the posted sign read: “Everything Must Go! Discounts 50-75% off!” The store was also still filled with about half of the remaining items. Just the other day when I walked by the store, with only a few items still remaining, the posted sign read: “Everything Must Go! Discounts 90% off!”
Every time I walked by the store, I noticed the reduction in the number of items still remaining along with a continued increase in the discount percentage. The purpose of the “Everything Must Go Sale” was the Owner’s attempt to liquidate assets (anything) that will no longer be considered profitable in his /her next phase. When the Owner does finally sell out, the only thing that will remain at the end is the shell/empty store space. Afterward, a new business comes in and occupies/fills the space.
The Holy Spirit revealed to me that a similar yet more incredible process (spiritual transformation) takes place when we choose to become “sold out”. Similar to the Owner, a “sold out” follower of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ makes the decision that “everything must go”. That is, everything in their life that is not pleasing and does not bring glory and honor to God. When people walk by, their godly character and lifestyle posted sign reads: “Sold Out! Everything Must Go! Not My Will, but Thy Will be done! Word Meditation Daily 50%!” Decreasing and dying to his/her flesh daily with the help of the Holy Spirit, the next time someone walks by, their godly character and lifestyle posted sign reads: “Sold Out! Everything Must Go! Not My Will, but Thy Will be done! Word Meditation Daily 50% -75%!”
No longer just in word, the “sold out” Christian has a purposed heart and desire to remove from their lives all things that are no longer profitable. Things such as jealousy, envy, hate, lust, pride, fornication, division, strife, backbiting, gossip, unforgiving, idolatry, murmuring, and complaining must go. Also, purposed with an even greater heart desire, “He must increase, but I must decrease.”
Yet, sometime later when you walk by the “sold out” Christian, you notice he/she is no longer concerned about their will, but Thy Will be done. With a few items still remaining and assurance that God is not through with them, their godly character and lifestyle posted sign now reads: “Sold Out! Everything Must Go! Not My Will, but Thy Will be done! Word Meditation Daily 90% and forever increasing!”
The “sold out” Christian eventually arrives at a spiritual maturity level where he/she fully comprehends the Kingdom purpose for removing all things that are no longer profitable in his/her walk with God. The only thing that remains is the heart of an obedient and willing Vessel God can continue to cleanse, purge, fill, and use for HIS GLORY.
Are you SOLD OUT? If your response is “yes”, what godly character and lifestyle posted signs are you displaying when people walk by? In the mall, in your home, on your job, in the supermarket, in the courtroom, in your business, in the restaurant, in your school, in your ministry, in your church, in the media, entertainment or wherever God has assigned you during this season? Continue to praise and thank God that He is not through with you yet.
If your response to the question was “no”, then ask yourself this question: What are some of the unprofitable things in your life that you have decided are more important than having a personal and intimate relationship with God?
